We’ll be honest: for years, we didn’t pay much attention to sunglasses. We would grab the cheapest pair upon arriving at our holiday destination without much consideration.
Over the years, we’ve come to appreciate the higher quality of sunglasses and have opted to invest in sunglasses with polarization and other benefits.
But these days, we find ourselves facing another problem. We want our sunglasses to be not just a functional accessory but a fashionable one too! Let’s be serious, wearing the same glasses all the time can get boring pretty quickly, especially if you have prescription lenses.
Enter Pair Eyewear.
Traveling Soon? Here is a list of our favourite travel providers and accessories to help get you ready for your upcoming trip!
One frame and infinite choices to style it to suit your mood or outfit.
What makes Pair different is that you can select your frame style and then add several different top frames to customize your glasses. Plus, with easy ordering online and 30-day returns, you don’t even have to worry about going into a store.
We recently took a couple of Pair sunglasses on our travels, and we loved that they could be tailored to suit our own individual style while protecting our eyes from harsh UV light.
How It Works
The best part is that Pair Eyewear is so simple. All you need to do is pick your base frame and then decide on your top frames, depending on your style. The base frame is the core shape of your glasses, while the top frame is the swappable addition that changes the colour and design of your glasses.
You can choose from hundreds of different top frames to give your glasses a fresh new look.
If you have a prescription, you can upload it when placing your order to get prescription sunglasses. You’ll need to ensure it is an official prescription from a licensed optometrist. Otherwise, your order won’t be fulfilled.
Make sure your prescription includes:
- Your name
- Exam date or expiration date
- Official header from a doctor’s office OR a doctor’s signature
- Full prescription photo (don’t crop the photo)
- A pupillary distance (PD) measurement
Types of Lenses They Offer
Pair Eyewear has various lens options to suit different people and their uses. Whether you have prescription glasses or are looking for polarized sunglasses for your outdoor activities, you can choose from a range of options when ordering your glasses.
- Prescription: If you have prescription glasses, upload your current prescription when ordering your glasses or sunglasses.
- Blue light: For those who spend a lot of time in front of a screen, especially those who work on a computer or laptop, these can help reduce the strain on your eyes.
- Transitions: Perfect for those who want to go inside and outside with the same pair of glasses, these will transition from clear to darker shades depending on the lighting.
- Progressive lenses: A newer option instead of bifocal lenses, progressive lenses blend both short and long-distance lenses so you can see near and far regardless of your eyesight.
- Polarized sunglasses: Sun-resistant glasses that block out harmful UV rays; these are ideal for summer days and anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors.
What We Wear
I (Oksana) got The Wanda, with the black base colour, prescription, single vision, and light-responsive lenses. My top frames include a black sun top and a white and cheetah spots sun top.
Max ordered The Drew base frame in the tortoise colour with a brown polarized lens. We’ve been rocking these on our travels for the last few months and loving their versatility!
